Celtic Zen Meditation Teacher Training
Combine the deep connection to nature of Druidism with the clarity of meditation from Celtic Zen! In this training, you will learn:
How to combine the wisdom of the Celtic Druid tradition with Dharma practices.
Forms of meditation that emphasise mindfulness and the sacredness of nature.

Become part of a community that combines the spiritual roots of Druidry with the stillness of meditation, and accompany others on their journey.
Start: the next training course starts on 18 April 2026 at intervals of approximately three weeks. There are usually no meetings during the school holidays (according to the school holiday calendar in Hesse). The exact dates can be found below.

Aims of the training
- Understanding and practising different forms of meditation from Druidry, Buddhism, Shamanism and Christianity.
- Developing creativity, compassion, wisdom, healing, life energy and transcendent experiences.
Structured meditation techniques through the Ogham alphabet and Fionn's Window.
Holistic training in the 16 exercises of Anapanasati and complementary techniques.
Modules and contents
Module 1: Introduction to Celtic Zen and the Ogham system
- Origin and philosophy of Celtic Zen.
- The Ogham alphabet: history, structure and symbolism.
- Fionn's Window: structure and application as a meditation card.
- Connection between the four Ogham sign groups and the four foundations of mindfulness (body, feelings, mind, Dhammas).
Module 2: The 16 exercises of Anapanasati
1. Body contemplation (Kāya) – Winter solstice, north (B, L, F, S, N)
- Exercises for breath awareness and calming the body.
- Practice: Zazen (sitting meditation) and Kinhin (walking meditation).
2. Mindfulness of feelings (Vedanā) – Spring equinox, East (H, D, T, C, Q)
- Exercises for experiencing joy, well-being and mental calm.
- Practice: Meditation on joy and happiness.
3. Mindfulness of mind (Citta) – Summer solstice, South (M, G, Ng, S, R)
- Exercises for mindfulness, concentration and letting go.
- Practice: Mindfulness techniques for mental clarity.
4. Dhamma Contemplation (Dhammā) – Autumn Equinox, West (A, O, U, E, I)
- Exercises for observing impermanence, detachment and liberation.
- Practice: Meditation on the nature of things.
Module 3: Meditations of the Forfeda (additional symbols)
1. Koad (Sacred Grove, Community – Imbolc)
- Inner Sanctuary (Inner Refuge) and Sacred Grove Meditation.
- Exercises for connecting with nature and community.
2. Oir (Brahma Vihara – Beltane)
- Practices on compassion, love, joy and equanimity.
- Tonglen meditation and Druidic prayers of peace.
3. Uilleand (Energies and visualisations – Lughnasadh)
- Meditations with energies and visualisations (e.g. light body, chakras).
- Nemetona practices and tantric meditations.
4. Phagos (Knowledge and Contemplation – Lughnasadh)
- Text meditation (Lectio Divina) and triad reflection.
- Nature meditation (Lectio Naturae).
5. Mor (Change and Journey – Samhain)
- Shamanic journeys, soul retrieval and pilgrimages.
- Inner and outer journeys as transformative practices.
Module 4: Teaching meditation – Passing on the gift of meditation
- Basics of teaching: role of the teacher, ethics and clarity in instruction.
- Practical skills: structuring sessions, dealing with groups and individual needs.
- Practice and feedback: Leading your own practice sessions and receiving feedback.
- Final project: Developing and conducting a meditation course.
Training methods
- Practice-oriented units: Daily meditation using various techniques.
- Theory lessons: Introduction to philosophy and historical background.
- Rituals and ceremonies: Connection with the seasonal festivals.
- Communal practice: Rituals and meditation in groups.
- Self-study and reflection: Regular journaling for deeper understanding.
- Online: The training takes place online. If there is interest, we meet for the Celtic seasonal festivals. At the Druid Camp at Donnersberg / Mount Thunder Druid Camp, the practice can be deepened in retreat-like conditions (https://www.druidencamp.de).
Duration and structure
- Duration: Regular duration approx. 1 year (2 months without lectures).
- Structure: Monthly online seminars and optional participation in the eight Celtic annual cycle meetings with the opportunity to deepen your practice.
- Final examination: Design and implementation of your own meditation sequence based on Celtic Zen.
- Costs: Basic fee €240. Monthly instalments are possible.

Completion
Certificate as a meditation teacher. This confirms competence in teaching meditation techniques and the ability to guide groups and individuals in their practice.
